Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners

When reporting a loss event, we would prefer you to use an electronic way. You will find the claims announcement form in the documents section below. Fill-in the information about the loss event and send it to us by e-mail with all the necessary documentation attached. This will significantly help with a fast processing of your claim. 

Alternatively, you can send us the hard copy of the filled-in form together with the documentation by post, which will however prolong the claim settlement time. 

Yes. Our Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners can be used as basis for visa application or long-term (over 90 days) stay permit application.

For this purpose, the insurance contract serves as a proof of purchased Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners pursuant to Act No. 326/1999 Coll. on the Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic, as amended.

Yes. Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners covers tourist, study and work stays in the Czech Republic within the scope of complex health care, regardless of the stay length. 

If you purchased the insurance for both Czech Republic and Schengen, then the Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners is valid for the whole Schengen Area. Outside the Czech Republic it covers only tourist stays up to 90 days in the extent of essential and urgent health care. 

Travel Health Insurance for Foreigners in the Czech Republic can be purchased in the extent of complex health care in two variants that differ in the indemnity limits*:

STANDARD comprehensive health care 

• Medical expenses (or health care) and transport 10 000 000 CZK (no less than 400 000 EUR)
• Stomatological care 20 000 CZK per year
• Medication prescribed as part of outpatient care 20 000 CZK per year
• Mandatory Vaccination 20 000 CZK per year
• Preventive care 1 per year

PREMIUM comprehensive health care

• Medical expenses (or health care) and transport 25 000 000 CZK
• Stomatological care 25 000 CZK per year
• Medication prescribed as part of outpatient care 25 000 CZK per year
• Mandatory vaccination 25 000 CZK per year
• Preventive care 2 per year

*Unless specified otherwise in the table, the limits always apply to the insured event.

The insured can expand the coverage for the Schengen Area in the extent of essential and urgent health care for foreigners.

In case of injury or health issues please contact our assistance service. You can find the phone number on the assistance card that is part of contract documentation send to you after premium payment. Our experienced operators will instruct you how to proceed next. 

Our assistance service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in English and Czech. In addition, we are able to provide interpretation into Ukrainian, Russian and Vietnamese. 

In life threatening situations always contact emergency services (phone no. 155) first. 

At doctors office insurance validity can be proved by insurance contract or assistance card issued by the insurer.

If you need to see a doctor, always contact the Colonnade Insurance Assistance Service. Our coordinators will recommend the most suitable solution for your situation, including suitable medical facility, online medical consultations etc. 

If, at the time of the claim, a valid optional insurance for pregnancy has been taken out or the waiting periods for the basic tariff expired (3 months for the first detection of pregnancy, 8 months for childbirth), all medical treatment undergone by the insured person in connection with pregnancy and childbirth in the insurer's contractual facility or in another facility approved in advance by the insurer is covered.

The insurance does not generally cover care beyond the scope of public health insurance in the Czech Republic. The ambulance service is covered in the event of an immediate life threat.
